Buying used phones is regulated in Florida, and for good reason. These rules keep stolen phones off the market and protect honest sellers like you.
What we check, every time
Before any cash changes hands, each phone passes the same checks. It’s why some sales take 15 minutes instead of 5.
- IMEI checked against the national lost-and-stolen blacklist
- Apple Account signed out and Activation Lock turned off
- Carrier finance status confirmed (paid-off phones only)
- Government-issued photo ID recorded, as Florida law requires
A registered secondhand dealer
We’re registered with the Florida Department of Revenue as a secondhand dealer under Chapter 538 of the Florida Statutes. We keep records and report transactions as the law requires.
- Printed receipt for every sale, with the phone's IMEI
- Transactions reported to local law enforcement as required
- Your ID details are used only for legal records, never for marketing
